Many arts organisations reach a stage where becoming a charity is an attractive option. Beth Walsh of Blake Morgan will provide an introduction to the key legal and governance considerations involved in that process.

The session will explore the basics of charity governance, the main legal structures availabale to charitable organisations, and the facts to consider when deciding whether charitable status is appropriate. It will also examine the Charity Commission’s regulatory expectations at the registration stage, including scrutiny of the public v private benefit test.

Designed for trustees, directors and senior leaders, the webinar will equip participants with a practical understanding of the legal framework to help inform strategic decision-making around restructuring.
