A&B Cymru Announces New Chair of Trustees
A&B Cymru is delighted to announce Anthony Wedlake as its new Chair. He was formally appointed at the charity’s October Board meeting, when David Morpeth stood down from the role after a six-year term. Anthony is A&B Cymru’s fourth Chair since it became an independent Welsh charity in 2011 and the first to be based in North Wales.
Anthony has spent the majority of his career in Financial Services at businesses including Chartered Trust, EE, Furness Building Society and Legal & General. His involvement with A&B Cymru spans 25 years – through participation in the charity’s Professional Development Programmes, he provided crucial advice to a range of arts organisations. Anthony joined A&B Cymru’s Board in 2023 to share his expertise and experience and support the development of the charity’s work in North Wales.
Anthony said: I am delighted to become Chair of Arts & Business Cymru, a charity that I care deeply about and whose work in the current economic climate is needed more than ever before. I look forward to working with the brilliant staff team to make a tangible difference to business and the arts in Wales.
A&B Cymru CEO Rachel Jones said: All at A&B Cymru are thrilled to welcome Anthony as Chair of the Board. His understanding of and passion for our work, combined with his business and political acumen, will play a key role in the success of our charity in the coming years. I very much look forward to working with him.
